Service Delivery Manager - Fire Protection
About AEFS
AEFS Group (All Essential Fire Services) is a Victorian fire protection specialist. We install, inspect, test and maintain fire detection, sprinkler, hydrant and portable fire equipment for more than 450 clients across health, education, government, commercial and industrial sites. We're ISO 9001:2015 certified, operate from Mount Waverley and Geelong, and are in a period of strong, planned growth.
The role
We're looking for a Service Delivery Manager to lead our fire detection and protection maintenance business. You'll make sure every routine is scheduled, completed, recorded, quoted and invoiced correctly, on time, every month.
This is a management role, not a technician role. You'll get results through planning, process, data and your team of 2 Service Coordinators and approx. 18 Service Technicians. You'll report to our GM Operations.
What you'll do
- Own the monthly, six-monthly and annual compliance programme to AS 1851 across all service contracts
- Lead the coordinators in scheduling a high volume of routine, defect and reactive work in Uptick
- Produce weekly operations and monthly compliance reports, and keep aged WIP under control
- Make sure defects are escalated, quoted and followed through to rectification
- Lead, coach and hold the team accountable, and keep licences and training current
- Build and enforce service procedures within our ISO 9001 quality system
- Be the escalation point for key clients, and take part in the after-hours on-call roster
What you'll bring
- 5+ years in fire protection service and maintenance, including 3+ years managing field teams
- Hands-on Uptick experience (routines, planner, asset registers, defect quoting, close-out and reporting). This is essential.
- Sound knowledge of AS 1851 and Victoria's Essential Safety Measures requirements
- A process-driven, highly organised approach and the ability to handle a heavy workload
- Solid reporting skills, including advanced Excel
- A manager's mindset: you lead through others rather than doing the work yourself
- Availability for extended hours when needed, and for the on-call roster
- A full Victorian driver licence and a clear National Police Check
Highly regarded: a trade background in fire, electrical or hydraulic services, FPAS accreditation, ISO 9001 experience, and a background in health, education or government contracts.
Why AEFS
- A key leadership role in a growing, well-established business
- Strong systems in place, including Uptick and ISO 9001, for you to build on
- Supportive leadership and a team that wants to perform
- Competitive salary package based on experience
