- Salary: $67,979.00 p.a. (pro rata) plus Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice benefits – AHA2
- Ongoing Part-Time – 30 hours per week

*This role attracts a fixed allowance that ensures a minimum salary equivalent to AHA2 (third increment) pro-rated, based on the Undertaking as within the Allied Health Professionals, Assistants and Psychologists Enterprise Agreement 2025.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Leisure & Lifestyle Assistant, you'll design and deliver meaningful recreational and lifestyle activities that support the wellbeing, independence, and dignity of residents at Northgate Neuro Behavioural Unit. Working closely with a dedicated multidisciplinary team, your day‑to‑day will include:

- Planning and facilitating individual and group activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and therapeutic goals
- Contributing to lifestyle assessments and care planning in collaboration with nursing and allied health staff
- Building genuine relationships with residents, families, and carers to understand what brings each person joy and purpose
- Maintaining accurate documentation of activity participation and resident responses in line with SA Health standards

What You'll Bring





- A qualification in Leisure and Health, Community Services, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience delivering lifestyle programs in an aged care, mental health, or community setting
- An understanding of person‑centred care and the specific needs of older people living with mental illness
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage people across varying levels of ability and cognition
- Willingness to work within SA Health's values framework and comply with relevant legislative requirements
- Current or ability to obtain a National Police Clearance and DCSI Aged Care Sector screening

About You:

In this role you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.
