Seeking a PDI Mechanic/Fitter to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Minto, NSW, this role is pivotal in ensuring that all vehicles meet our stringent pre-delivery inspection standards before they reach our customers. As a PDI Mechanic/Fitter, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive mechanical inspections, diagnostics, and adjustments to guarantee vehicle quality, safety, and performance. This position is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the automotive trades industry and directly impacts customer satisfaction and vehicle reliability.

Key responsibilities

- Conduct thorough pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on vehicles, identifying any mechanical, electrical, or cosmetic issues
- Perform diagnostic testing using specialised equipment to assess vehicle systems and components
- Execute mechanical adjustments, repairs, and replacements as required to rectify PDI findings
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks including fluid checks, filter replacements, and system calibrations
- Document all inspection findings and work completed using detailed service records and reports
- Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and industry standards
- Liaise with supervisors and other team members to communicate any significant vehicle issues or concerns
- Maintain a clean and safe work workplace, adhering to all health and safety protocols
- Test repaired vehicles to ensure all issues have been resolved and systems function correctly





What we’re looking for

- Trade qualification or substantial formal training in automotive mechanics, fitting, or a related automotive discipline
- Proven experience as a mechanic or fitter, preferably with experience in PDI work or new vehicle preparation
- Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic systems
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, multimeters, and specialised automotive tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
- Knowledge of relevant automotive safety standards and compliance regulations
