Tauondi Aboriginal College is an Aboriginal community-controlled Registered Training Organisation with over 50 years of experience delivering culturally appropriate adult education and employment pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in South Australia.
We provide culturally safe, strengths-based education that supports individuals to build skills, confidence and sustainable career pathways. Working closely with community, industry and government partners, Tauondi delivers programs that strengthen social and economic outcomes and increase Aboriginal participation in priority workforce sectors.
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and culturally responsive Business Trainer and Assessor to deliver nationally recognised vocational education and training within the Community Services Training Package.
The role has a strong focus on delivery of Certificate III in Business under the traineeship arrangement.
You will create engaging and culturally protected learning environments that support Aboriginal learners to develop practical skills, sector knowledge and work readiness.
Delivery may occur in classroom, community-based, workplace and online environments.
Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery and Assessment
- Deliver accredited qualifications within the Business Services Training Package, including Certificate III in Business as a traineeship.
- Design and deliver engaging, culturally safe learning experiences across classroom, community-based, workplace and online environments.
- Develop compliant Training and Assessment Strategies, session plans and assessment tools aligned with the Standards for RTOs (ASQA).
- Monitor student progress and provide support to assist successful participation, progression and completion.
- Apply inclusive and culturally responsive teaching practices that support Aboriginal learners.
- Work collaboratively with Tauondi’s Support Team to strengthen student capability, confidence and employment readiness.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Maintain accurate and compliant training and assessment documentation in accordance with ASQA and organisational requirements.
- Ensure assessment practices meet the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence.
- Participate in validation, moderation and continuous improvement processes.
- Maintain student records, attendance and assessment evidence to support audit and compliance requirements.
- Maintain vocational currency and participate in professional development activities.
About You
You are a motivated and culturally aware trainer who is passionate about improving educational and employment outcomes for Aboriginal learners.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122)
- Vocational competency relevant to Community Services and/or Individual Support
- Current industry experience in business services
- Strong understanding of the VET sector and ASQA compliance requirements
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities (highly regarded)
- Solid communication, organisation and relationship-building skills
You must hold (or be willing to obtain):
- DHS Working with Children Check
- Responding to Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care
- Driver’s Licence
