The Role
Land Communications & Specialist Systems, System Program Office (LCSS SPO) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled contracting professional who is able to provide support in delivering business outcomes. As the APS 6 Contracting Officer for LCSS SPO, you will manage contractual arrangements and provide support services for both Sustainment Support Contracts and Standing Offer Deeds with multiple suppliers across the products. The APS6 Contracting Officer position is required to interpret policy to manage contracts, apply procedures to execute their intent and ensure appropriate management of contracts in support of SPO outcomes. Your work may contribute to strategic planning, program and project management, policy development and will include a supervisory role.
Working as a Contracting Officer, your key responsibilities will include the following (but not limited to):
- Build and sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external enabling productive liaison in relation to contract management.
- Understand and prepare contractual documents and conduct contract management
- Undertake complex procurement planning, tendering and contract formation and contract management activities.
- Translate and apply legal principles, legislative and mandatory policy compliance obligations and critical commercial risk and performance requirements related to procurement and contract
- Seek,
interpret and provide advice and assistance on complex procurement and contract management issues.
- Manage and lead a small team, including providing clear and consistent communication, managing performance and delegating responsibility.
The team is based at Victoria Barracks in Melbourne. We are supportive of achieving a balance between work and life. Flexible working arrangements may be negotiated. Telework from home considered however, this role cannot be performed remotely on a full-time basis, as it is office based. Family-friendly working arrangements available. A merit pool may be established from this recruitment round.
