The Assistant Manager, Property is responsible for providing strategic guidance and expert advice on the management of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Cth) (CDPP) property portfolio and workplace environment.

Working across the CDPP and with external providers, you will:

- provide trusted advice on property and facilities matters, balancing operational requirements, business priorities, financial considerations, risk and government policy;
- use sound judgement to identify emerging issues, develop practical solutions and support senior executives to make well-informed decisions; and
- lead and develop a small team and build productive relationships with senior stakeholders, service providers and government partners.

The role offers an opportunity to influence how the CDPP uses and manages its property assets to support its people and business outcomes.

What will you bring?

- firm negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence outcomes where priorities differ;
- experience leading projects, service providers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality outcomes;
- a proactive approach to identifying opportunities to improve property services, processes and the workplace experience; and
- a strong commitment to integrity, accountability, probity and transparent decision-making.

You will be comfortable operating at both a strategic and practical level. You will know when to lead, when to seek specialist advice and when an issue needs to be escalated.

The key duties of the position include:

Reporting to the Manager, Property and Security, in addition to meeting the Integrated Leadership System profile of the Executive Level 1, primary outcomes and accountabilities will involve:

- Project & Lease Management:
- Lead and oversee complex property projects and allocated leasing activities from concept design through to successful completion including driving construction, refurbishment, and fit-out initiatives while strictly managing project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies to deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes;

- Strategic Procurement & Governance:

- Undertake complex procurement activities in accordance with Commonwealth guidelines, ensuring rigorous stewardship, transparency, and meticulous retention of all project, financial, and lease documentation;
- Lead and execute complex property procurement activities, including end-to-end tendering processes. You will ensure all commercial outcomes strictly align with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), broader Government policies, and internal agency guidelines while maintaining meticulous, defensible records of all property projects and leasing transactions;

- Stakeholder Engagement & Representation:

- Develop, nurture, and maintain highly effective, respectful, and productive relationships with internal and external partners across the CDPP, AGD Portfolio, Government and industry;
- Act as a primary liaison point to align goals across diverse project teams, including Security, ICT, external agency personnel, and commercial suppliers;

- Executive Support & Strategic Advice:

- Partner closely with the Manager Property and Security to provide high-level, evidence-based strategic advice and reporting to the CDPP Executive;
- Deliver clear,



comprehensive briefs to internal stakeholders regarding project status, milestones, and strategic directions;
- Drive critical team priorities, including facilities management, office services, and protective security functions;

- Operational Integrity & Cross-Functional Support:

- Support the broader delivery of integrated facilities management, office services, business continuity, and protective security functions, ensuring the CDPP’s property footprint remains secure, resilient, and fit-for-purpose;

- Resource Management and Workplace Safety:

- Manage and optimise team resources—encompassing human capital, financial budgets, and technological infrastructure—in strict accordance with agency policies;
- Champion a proactive culture of health and safety by integrating Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and CDPP policies into daily operations and team workflows;

- Strategic Communication and Digital Literacy:

- Demonstrate highly developed written, oral, and digital capabilities to translate complex property information into clear, actionable advice; and
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal business units and external vendors to support seamless property operations.

Eligibility

- The ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA NV1 security clearance
- Australian Citizenship

Notes

- Significant experience in property projects, covering feasibility, design, construction and commissioning, finance, project management, change management, security; and
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (desirable).
