The Role

An ICT Manager within the Defence Force School of Signals-Electronic Warfare Wing is responsible for delivering reliable and effective ICT services that support training outcomes. The role ensures compliance with ICT governance, policy, and security requirements while managing ICT resources, priorities, and workflows to achieve efficient service delivery.

An ICT Manager maintains the availability, reliability, and security of ICT systems, proactively addressing risks and resolving complex technical and business issues. Success in the role requires close integration with multiple teams and strong engagement with stakeholders to align ICT capabilities with organisational objectives. The position also provides strategic advice to support informed decision-making.

About our Team

Our team’s main function is the training of soldiers, sailors, aviators, and officers in signals intelligence and electronic warfare for the Australian Defence Force. The ICT Manager supports this by delivering and maintaining ICT services.

Our Ideal Candidate

An ideal ICT Manager demonstrates strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a well-developed ability to prioritise competing tasks and work independently under broad direction while delivering secure, practical, and business-aligned outcomes within a Defence environment.

They effectively engage with instructors, managers, and executive staff,



providing clear updates on ICT status and current works while ensuring reliable service delivery and stakeholder confidence.

As a senior APS employee, they will consistently demonstrate professionalism, integrity, accountability, and discretion when handling sensitive information and security matters. This role requires experience with ADF stand-alone TS ICT systems, knowledge of ADF and ASD ICT policy, and ICT system administrator skills.

Eligibility

Security Clearance:

Positive Vetting: Prior to commencement, successful applicants will be required to undergo a psychological assessment and an extensive security clearance process. As a Positive Vetting clearance is required, applicants must be Australian Citizens; be able to account for their personal background for their whole life; and be able to demonstrate suitability to work in a high security intelligence environment.
