Your chance:

The Student Support Officer supports students who need additional help to successfully engage in school.

The role has a particular focus on students experiencing complex social, emotional, family or wellbeing challenges, including students whose experiences of trauma may be affecting their attendance, behaviour, relationships or engagement with learning.

The Student Support Officer builds strong relationships with students and families and works closely with the Phase of Learning team, Inclusive Practices, Guidance Officers and other student support staff.

Where external services are involved,



the Student Support Officer helps connect and coordinate support between the student, family, school and relevant agencies. The role uses a relationship-based, trauma-aware and strengths-based approach.

Suitability Considerations:

- Experience supporting young people and families experiencing complex social, emotional or wellbeing challenges.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, school staff and external agencies.
- Ability to work as part of a team while managing sensitive information, case coordination and follow-up.
