Site Supervisor - Industrial Automation & Distribution Centres

Melbourne | Major Industrial & Distribution Centre Projects | Short-term Interstate Travel

We are currently working with a leading industrial project delivery business that is involved in some of Australia's largest and most technically advanced warehouse and distribution centre projects.

We are looking for an experienced Site Supervisor with a strong industrial construction background to oversee the installation and delivery of major automation and robotics systems within large-scale distribution centres.

This is not a traditional commercial construction role. You'll be working on high-volume automated facilities, coordinating the installation of sophisticated robotics, conveyors, material handling systems and associated infrastructure.

Think large-scale distribution centres similar to those used by Amazon, ALDI and other major FMCG and logistics businesses.
The RoleYou will be responsible for supervising site activities and coordinating multiple trades, subcontractors and installation teams throughout the delivery of complex industrial projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Supervising the installation of automated warehouse and material handling systems
- Coordinating mechanical, electrical, structural and installation works
- Managing subcontractors, site teams and specialist installation crews
- Coordinating works around conveyors, robotics, sortation systems,



automated storage and retrieval systems, pallet handling and associated infrastructure
- Reading and interpreting construction and engineering drawings
- Managing site sequencing, installation activities and project milestones
- Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Clients and Principal Contractors
- Monitoring site safety, quality and compliance
- Identifying and resolving site issues and coordinating works between different trades
- Supporting testing, commissioning and handover activities
- Conducting site inspections and ensuring works are delivered to the required standards

The Background We're Looking For
We're particularly interested in Site Supervisors who have come from an industrial builder, industrial construction contractor or specialist installation environment and have experience delivering large-scale:

- Distribution centres
- Automated warehouses
- FMCG facilities
- Logistics facilities
- Manufacturing facilities
- Industrial fit-outs
- Brownfield or greenfield industrial projects

Experience working on projects involving major clients and large-scale logistics/FMCG operators would be highly regarded.

You don't necessarily need to have worked directly for an automation company.



We're interested in people who have supervised the construction and fit-out of the facility and understand how the building, services and automation installation all come together.

Ideally You'll Have

- 5+ years' experience in site supervision or construction management
- Strong industrial construction or fit-out experience
- Experience on large-scale warehouses, distribution centres or manufacturing facilities
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and site coordination
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong WHS and quality awareness
- Experience working alongside mechanical, electrical and automation contractors
- Trade or construction qualification highly regarded
- White Card
