Role:
NOPSEMA is seeking an experienced Executive Director to providestrategic leadership of regulatory activities across producingassets from within the Regulatory Operations Division. The role isresponsible for leading a risk-based regulatory approach,identifying and responding to emerging industry risks, drivingcontinuous improvement in regulatory practices and influencingregulatory outcomes across industry. The successful candidate willbring extensive leadership experience in a regulatory organisationand/or major hazard industry, supported by a solid understandingof operational risk management across the asset lifecycle.
Key responsibilities:
You will be responsible for leading and guiding ongoingregulatory operations across production facilities and managingoversight of specialist technical advice on production operations,process safety and marine operations to the agency, industry andother stakeholders.
As an experienced strategic senior leader, driving a risk-basedapproach in regulating production operation activities, you willprovide oversight of the use of regulatory powers to result infair, consistent and defendable regulatory outcomes and leadpromotion, advice and influence on activities to titleholders andindustry across all production topics including externalrepresentation and presentations. You will be responsible foridentifying and responding to emerging and systemic industry risksand ensuring NOPSEMA regulatory activities remain focused on areasof greatest risk and regulatory value.
Working collaboratively with other Executive Directors,



you willpromote consistency in regulatory practice, decision making,capability development and the application of regulatory powersacross exploration, development, production and decommissioningactivities.
You will provide leadership of NOPSEMA's safety regulatorydiscipline and work closely with the Deputy CEO – RegulatoryOperations and other Executive Directors to support workforcecapability, succession planning, organisational improvement anddevelopment of regulatory capability.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will bring extensiveexecutive leadership experience in an objective-based regulatoryorganisation and/or regulated major hazard industry.
You must be able to demonstrate extensive experience inexecutive leadership, not limited to:
major hazard risk management.
regulatory decision making.
offshore petroleum technical safety.
operations associated with offshore petroleum facilitiesincluding FPSO's, MODUs, floating and fixed platforms,pipelines and subsea infrastructure.
process safety and integrity of offshore energyfacilities.
