As an AIR**** Product Owner, you will provide technical leadership across a complex, system-of-systems setting that is transforming how the Australian Defence Force manages air and missile defence operations.Working closely with Product Teams, Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) teams, customers and industry partners, you will shape product direction, define priorities, and drive delivery outcomes that support mission-critical capability.
This is an opportunity to influence the development of cutting-edge Defence solutions, collaborate with highly skilled engineering professionals, and play a key role in a program of national significance.Key responsibilitiesThe AIR**** Product Owner's Primary Responsibilities IncludeDefining and communicating the technical direction, scope and priorities for assigned AIR**** products and capabilitiesManaging product backlogs, feature prioritisation and Agile planning activities in collaboration with Product Teams and SEIT stakeholdersEstablishing feature acceptance criteria and validating delivered outcomes against program objectivesAssessing system architecture options, technical trade-offs and solution approaches to support informed decision-makingProviding technical leadership, mentoring and domain expertise to engineering teams throughout the product lifecycleActing as the voice of the customer while collaborating with internal stakeholders,



Defence customers and industry partners to achieve program outcomesWhat you'll bringExtensive experience delivering complex engineering solutions within Agile development environmentsProven technical leadership experience across large-scale systems, engineering acquisition programs or Defence capability projectsStrong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build trusted relationshipsAdvanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including evaluating technical trade-offs and delivering value-driven solutionsExperience working with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies, with an understanding of MBSD and MBE principlesDefence industry experience and knowledge of Air Battle Management, Integrated Air & Missile Defence, DevSecOps or related domains will be highly regardedDegree qualifications in a relevant Engineering Discipline or relevant industry experienceAn Australian NV-1 security clearance and ability to access/handle Export Controlled technology, data and informationProficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practiceAbout Lockheed MartinLockheed Martin is a dynamic organisation, providing stimulating and challenging opportunities with a global team of over 122,000 professionals.
