Machine Learning Engineer - Computer Vision
6-month initial contract Melbourne Hybrid
We are looking for an experiencedMachine Learning Engineerto join a Melbourne-based organisation delivering production-grade AI and computer vision solutions.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who has experience takingmachine learning and computer vision models beyond experimentation and into real-world production environments.
The role
You will work across the development, deployment and optimisation of machine learning solutions, with a particular focus oncomputer vision.
You will be involved across the ML lifecycle - from data preparation and model development through to deployment, monitoring and ongoing improvement.
What you will be doing
Design, build and optimisemachine learning and computer vision models
Develop solutions across areas such asimage classification, object detection, segmentation and/or video analytics
Build production-quality ML applications and services usingPython
Deploy and operate ML workloads withinAWS
Develop scalable data and inference pipelines
Evaluate model performance and improve accuracy, reliability and efficiency
Work with engineering and business stakeholders to translate real-world problems into practical ML solutions
Contribute to MLOps, automated deployment,
monitoring and model lifecycle management
What we are looking for
You will bring strong commercial experience as aMachine Learning Engineer, Computer Vision Engineer or similar, including:
Solid hands-onPythondevelopment skills
Commercial experience developingcomputer visionsolutions
Strong understanding of machine learning and deep learning fundamentals
Experience with frameworks such asPyTorch, TensorFlow and/or OpenCV
Experience deploying ML solutions intoAWS cloud environments
Understanding of production ML/MLOps practices
Experience building scalable, maintainable and well-tested production code
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Experience with AWS services used for machine learning, containerisation, CI/CD and production model deployment will be highly regarded.
The opportunity
This is an initial6-month contractwith a Melbourne-based team offering ahybrid working arrangement.
You will have the opportunity to work on genuine computer vision problems where machine learning is being applied to real-world use cases rather than purely proof-of-concept work.
