Hero Sushi Surfers Paradise is seeking an experienced Cook to join our team.Hero Sushi currently operates more than 50 restaurants and kiosks across ACT, NSW, QLD and VIC, serving a range of Japanese cuisine, including sushi, sashimi and other Japanese dishes.PositionCookLocationHero Sushi Surfers ParadiseSurfers Paradise QLD **** (Gold Coast Region)Qualifications and ExperienceAt least a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or a higher qualification in a relevant field;A minimum of three years of relevant practical experience working as a Cook in the hospitality industry;The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy kitchen setting; andA reliable, passionate and self-motivated approach to work.About the RoleThis is a full-time position working 38 hours per week.As a Cook, your duties and responsibilities will include:Preparing ingredients and food items prior to the opening of the restaurant;Checking the quantity,



quality and freshness of ingredients and food supplies;Preparing and cooking food using appropriate cooking equipment in accordance with customer orders and any special dietary requirements;Portioning, plating and presenting dishes to the required standard;Properly storing ingredients and food products after use and minimising food wastage;Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in food preparation and cooking areas;Assisting with the training of other kitchen staff when required; andComplying with company policies, food safety requirements and workplace procedures.RemunerationThe final salary will be determined based on the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and relevant experience.
