Due to consistent growth, we are looking for a Senior Occupational Hygiene and HazMat consultant to join our high performing OHH team supporting our well established and varied client base throughout the state.The opportunityOur national Hazardous Materials & Occupational Hygiene team comprises licensed asbestos assessors, certified occupational hygienists, senior toxicologists, and laboratory professionals.
We have in-house NATA accredited asbestos laboratories in all major offices.We're expanding our VIC Hazardous Materials & Occupational Hygiene team and looking for experienced consultants to take the lead on major client accounts.
Our recent projects span industrial sites, research facilities, and public infrastructure.The roles will be based in our Perth office.
We work hybrid , so you'll enjoy the flexibility of working from home when not required on client sites, great for maintaining work-life balance.In this role, you'll help elevate EHS standards, protect worker wellbeing, and strengthen client reputations by delivering expert advice that meets both regulatory and best practice benchmarks.Expect a dynamic role with overtime opportunities, excellent working conditions,



and a diverse team of experts ready to support your growth through hands‐on mentoring and tailored training.As a Senior Occupational Hygiene and HazMat Consultant you'll:Lead and manage hazardous materials assessments, including asbestos, lead, PCBs, and other regulated substances, from initial survey through to remediation and clearanceProvide occupational hygiene advice, including exposure assessment, risk management, and the development of control strategies for chemical, biological, and physical hazards in workplacesOversee the development and implementation of hazardous materials management plans and occupational hygiene monitoring programsEnsure all work complies with relevant Australian legislation, codes of practice, and industry standardsPrepare high-quality technical reports, risk assessments, and client communications in a timely mannerMentor and provide technical guidance to consultants and junior staff, supporting their professional development and knowledge sharingBuild and maintain strong client relationships, identifying new business opportunities and contributing to tender submissionsStay current with industry developments, emerging hazards, and technology trends relevant to hazardous materials and occupational hygieneWhat you'll bring:You are likely to have tertiary qualifications in a scientific field, environmental management/science, health and safety,



or occupational hygiene.Typically 5+ years in hazardous materials management and occupational hygiene consultingDemonstrated expertise in conducting hazardous materials surveys, risk assessments, and remediation projectsComprehensive knowledge of relevant Australian and state regulations, codes of practice, and standardsProven ability to manage complex projects, deliver high-quality reports, and meet client expectationsStrong leadership, mentoring, and communication skillsProfessional membership or certification, e.g. full membership of the Australian Institute of AIOH, COH, and/or Licensed Asbestos Assessor is highly regardedValid Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sitesWhy WSP?
