Our strategy is to focus on creating a safe work environment where our employees feel strongly connected to our values and objectives, and where the capability of our people is key to our success.Come and be a part of this success.About the RoleJoin the Nelson Point Ore Car Maintenance (NPOCM) team as a Material Logistics Officer, where you will play a key role in coordinating materials and logistics to support safe, reliable and efficient maintenance operations.Reporting to the Superintendent NPOCM, you will be responsible for ensuring maintenance activities have the required parts and materials available when needed, while managing inventory, goods movements and logistics activities.
This role is suited to a proactive and self-motivated individual with strong problem-solving skills, excellent organisational abilities and a genuine commitment to safety and continuous improvement.Your responsibilities will include:An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable developmentEnsure hazard / risk identification for tasks performed,
the development of required controls and verification that identified controls are in place and workingProactively manage Back to Basics and Field Leadership expectationsEnsure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct, the Rail Rule Book, and other relevant statutory obligationsContribute to and implement Continuous Improvement initiativesPerform maintenance & service activities on ore car componentsEnsuring planned tasks have the required parts by follow, tracking and escalating delays with materials deliveryManaging order confirmation, receipt, and receivable of goods inwardsManaging items dispatch, and return not use parts for storage or creditAbout YouAbility to engage, communicate and collaborate with other work groupsIdentifying opportunities for improvement and proactively solving themAbility to priorities and manage your time effectivelyMandatory Forklift Driver's LicenseMandatory C class manual drivers' licence, HR / HR-B AdvantageousWorking experience with computer-based ordering and procurement systems, such as SAPDemonstrated logistics and planning experience in a related industryExperience with operation and maintenance managementAbout Our ProcessAt BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
