Brisbane Catholic Education is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Financial Accounting Services team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading day-to-day financial operations, improving processes and supporting the delivery of accurate and timely financial services.This role sits within a large and complex organisation supporting more than 80,000 students across Queensland and offers exposure to enterprise financial systems, financial accounting and continuous improvement initiatives.About the RoleReporting to the Manager, Financial Accounting Services, you will play a key role in supporting the effective operation of BCE's Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions while assisting with a range of financial accounting activities.You will work closely with internal stakeholders to manage workflows, monitor workloads,
support process improvements and help ensure the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.Work hours:Fulltime | Flexible Working Arrangements AvailableStatus: Fixed Term | Maternity Leave | October **** - March ****About the opportunityIn this position you will:Support and oversee day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operationsAssist with workflow management and prioritisation of transactional finance activitiesMonitor service delivery timeframes and contribute to performance outcomesAssist with month-end reconciliations and accounting processesSupport financial controls and compliance activitiesContribute to process improvement and system enhancement initiativesProvide support and training to users of financial systemsAssist with preparation of audit workpapers and supporting documentationBuild positive relationships with stakeholders across BCEAbout youWe are looking for someone who brings strong experience in transactional finance environments and enjoys improving the way work gets done.You will ideally have:Experience leading or coordinating Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable functionsStrong understanding of high-volume transaction processing environmentsExperience managing competing priorities, workflows and service delivery deadlinesA focus on accuracy, customer service and continuous improvementStrong Excel and financial systems skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsRelevant accounting, finance or business qualifications,
