Symal Infrastructure is delivering the major civil works package for the Gawara Baya Wind Farm, a landmark renewable energy project located in Northern Queensland.
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer – Civil to join our project team and play a key role in delivering complex civil construction works across the project.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Project Manager / Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating civil construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day engineering requirements across civil construction activitiesDevelop and monitor short-term construction programs, including three-week look-ahead schedulesCoordinate labour, plant, materials, and subcontractor requirements to meet project milestonesAssist with procurement, contract administration, variations, and progress claimsMonitor project costs, productivity, and performance against targetsManage quality assurance processes, including ITPs, inspections, and documentationSupport safety leadership through SWMS reviews, audits, pre-starts, and site engagementMaintain solid relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal project stakeholdersIdentify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and project outcomes
About You
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalentApproximately 3+ years' experience in civil constructionStrong understanding of construction methodologies, quality requirements,
and project controlsExperience with project programming, procurement, and subcontractor managementAbility to work collaboratively within a site-based construction teamStrong communication and problem-solving skillsCommitment to safe and quality outcomes
