RED is an expanding international M&E; consultancy, with a proven track record in low energy design, focused on providing excellent design solutions to clients.We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to be based in our Australia office, with the ability to inspire others and lead both small and large projects.
You will take on a client‐facing role in the development, design, and coordination of engineering projects.
Candidates with an industrial background, preferably with experience in semiconductor facilities, cleanrooms, brownfield retrofitting, data centres, and other industrial projects.
Additional sector experience in commercial, hotel, and retail design would be desirable.Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both with colleagues and clients, and experience working on cutting-edge projects with leading client organisations, and contractors will equip you to take a future pro-active role in forging client relationships of our sector portfolio.You will possess good commercial awareness, in addition to having robust technical knowledge relevant to building services design, and capable of incorporating those technologies into the hotel / hospitality and leisure sector.
The position will ideally suit someone who is currently working in building service consultancy and is prepared to work 'hands on'.
Rumeneration will AUD $205,****** per annnumJob ResponsibilitiesResponsible for running of Major projects.
Takes Team Management role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services for Mechanical or Electrical installations, systems, equipment, facilities etc. (majority of building types)Carries out cost and profit diagnosis on projects including feasibility studies and preparation of fee bidsReviews status advised by project personnel and external parties and modifies schedules or plans as required.
Prepares project reports for Management,
Client or others.Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposesSurveys tests and reports on existing electrical/mechanical installationsSpecifies activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing confirm to functional specifications and customer requirementsRepresents Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors' teamsEnsure engineering calculations and drawings meet required robust industry and legal standardsDay to day decision making on project progress and direct liaison with, and provides advice to clientEnsures risk and performance monitoring analysis takes place through effective systems of internal control and delegationLeads on the coordination of engineering servicesTakes a holistic view in the selection and application of engineering concepts and solutionsJob RequirementsBackground in consulting or construction preferred.Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy.Act in an ethical manner and follow the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines of the GroupBSc/BEng in appropriate engineering discipline or have sufficient equivalent experienceMCIBSE/MIEE or HND/HNC + appropriate experience or equivalentQualifications in one or more of GreenMark /LEED /WELLSignificant experience of sustainable design for a range of building typesSound knowledge & working application of key health and safety issues and legislationAppreciation & working knowledge of contract & business lawKnowledge of MS office applications word, excel etcAbility to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet softwareGood understanding of Singapore codesExperience and understanding of invoicing and credit controlAbility to prioritise own workloadAbility to work to deadlinesLeadership & mentoring skillsPresentation skillsChairing/facilitation of meeting skills
