RN - Mareeba Hospital - Medical Ward / Theatre
Mareeba Hospital in Queensland is seeking a Registered Nurse for a six-week contract role spanning the Medical Ward and Theatre.
Running from 19 October to 30 November ****, this position offers a balanced mix of acute medical nursing and perioperative experience, with 60% of time allocated to the Medical Ward and 40% to Theatre.
The successful candidate will work across general surgery, endoscopy, and obstetrics, and will be part of a 24/7 on-call roster supporting after-hours obstetric emergencies.
Six-week contract combining medical ward and theatre experience in a regional hospital setting
Exposure to general surgery, endoscopy, and obstetrics with on-call participation for obstetric emergencies
Prospect to develop or consolidate perioperative nursing skills in a supportive clinical environment
Preferred Requirements




Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia
Competence in scrub or scout nursing, or anaesthetics and post-anaesthetic care unit (PACU) experience
Proficiency with ieMR and SurgiNet systems
Ability to work flexibly within a 24/7 on-call roster for obstetric after-hours support
Sound clinical communication and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification with current AHPRA registration
Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated experience in perioperative nursing
Familiarity with obstetric nursing protocols and emergency response procedures
