As our Senior Manager People & Safety, you'll lead the team that makes that happen.You'll be the trusted link between the Executive Leadership Team, Managers, staff and our external partners.
You'll shape and deliver our people, culture and WHS strategies, give sound advice on employment and safety law, and make sure what we do on paper works in practice.

We are a forward-thinking organisation responding to the unique and changing needs of our community and people.What you will doLead, mentor and develop the People & Safety teamPartner with the Executive Leadership Team and people leaders to design and deliver people, culture and safety strategies that support Council's directionProvide high-level advice on industrial relations, employment law, WHS and workers' compensationImprove our systems, policies and processes across the whole employee lifecycleBuild strong working relationships with unions, government agencies, other councils and service providersSupport Council's emergency management and business continuity planningWhat you will bring:Relevant qualification and/or experience in a similar roleConfident application of WHS and employment lawAbility to interpret and apply legislation with a willingness to learn and adapt to changeComposed, systematic management approachNatural ability to build trust, connection and positive cultureA forward-thinking approach to improving processes, systems, and performanceWhat's on offerA culture of improvement and togethernessMonthly rostered days off and adaptable working arrangements available, including working from homeAccess to personalised development plans and ongoing learning and development
