12-month contract + extensions | Hybrid | Australian Citizenship essentialWe're looking for an experienced Data Architect to provide technical leadership across a large-scale federal government data setting.This is a senior role focused on Data Architecture, Data Modelling, Data Integration and Data Delivery, working closely with development teams, data consumers and other technical stakeholders to design and govern effective data solutions.Key responsibilities will include:Providing technical leadership through design reviews, technical workshops and guidance on implementation best practiceReviewing and refining data delivery frameworks, including integration of new data sources and performance improvementsDefining peer review, data modelling and release standardsProviding knowledge transfer and mentoring across data modelling, development and release processesLeading the technical implementation of new data from analysis through to deliveryDriving continuous improvement across delivery principles, coding standards and documentationPrioritising work items and supporting delivery planningAnalysing and sizing user requirementsProviding guidance on Conceptual,
Logical and Physical data modelsReviewing data models and designs and providing technical guidance to engineers and modellersMaintaining technical and system documentationWorking closely with data consumers, database developers, testers and IT support teamsSupporting the development of consumable reporting and analytics to address business risks and emerging trendsYou'll need strong experience across enterprise data environments, with demonstrated capability in:Data Architecture, including enterprise-scale conformed data models and analytical data designAWS cloud data environments, including S3 and contemporary cloud data warehouse technologiesTechnical leadership across Cloud Data Lake and Data Warehouse platformsETL and data governance design and implementationData modelling, including peer review and providing guidance to technical teamsDevOps processesVersion control and appropriate branching/release practicesData modelling tools such as ErwinStrong SQL skills, with experience in contemporary analytics languages such as Python or R highly regardedReverse engineering end-user SQL and interpreting existing data models and specificationsMetadata or model-driven frameworksExperience working in an Agile environment is also highly regarded.
