Operational Maintainer - Trainee ShunterAurizon is offering an exciting opportunity to kick-start your career in rail through our Operational Maintainer (Rail Shunter) Traineeship in our Avon depot (Northam, WA).
As a trainee, you'll be part of a structured program where you'll gain practical, hands-on experience while completing a nationally recognised qualification in rail operations (shunting).
You'll work alongside experienced team members in a fast-paced environment, developing the skills needed to build a long-term career with Australia's largest rail freight operator.About the role:Control the movement of trains and carry out relevant instructions always maintaining safetyInspect for faults, repair, service and maintain rollingstockSupport maintenance of locomotives, ancillary vehicles, machines, and equipmentConduct brake testing of trainsEffectively communicate with other depot personnel as well as clients and operational staff including train control face to face and via two-way radioUndertake shunting and marshalling of trainsOther duties as requestedAbout you:C Class Drivers Licence (mandatory)Strong commitment to safetyMechanical aptitudeStrong problem solving and communication skillsA willingness to workday & night shift (up to 12hr shifts)
