About Renown Group
Renown Group Australia is an Adelaide-based private lending and financial services group operating across three divisions: Renown Lending (non-bank asset-backed and property finance), Renown Mortgages, and Renown Wealth (a property-backed private credit fund for wholesale and sophisticated investors). We're a close-knit, principal-led team that moves quickly, and we're growing.
About the role
We're looking for an Accountant / Credit Officer to join our team in a hybrid finance and credit capacity. You'll sit at the centre of how money moves through the group — reviewing the numbers behind our AFSL-regulated fund, scrutinising loan term sheets, and keeping our construction lending book on track through budget and documentation review. This is a hands-on role working directly with the principals, CFO and credit team, suited to someone who enjoys both the rigour of accounting and the judgement of credit.
What you'll be doing
- Reviewing and reconciling the accounts of our AFSL fund, including investor reporting, distributions and compliance-related financial reporting
- Reviewing loan term sheets and credit submissions for accuracy, commercial sense and alignment with our credit policy
- Processing and reviewing invoice payments, including progress-claim and drawdown payments on construction loans
- Reviewing documentation from builders and developers — cost-to-complete reports, progress claims, variations and building contracts
- Preparing and monitoring project budgets and cash flow forecasts across the lending book
- Supporting month-end, management reporting and liaison with our external accountants and auditors
- Identifying risks or irregularities early and escalating them to the credit manager and principals
What we're looking for
- A degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce; CA/CPA qualified or working towards it is highly regarded
- 2–5 years' experience in accounting, credit, lending or financial services — exposure to property or construction finance is a strong advantage
- Comfortable reading loan documentation, term sheets, building contracts and fund constitutions
- Solid Excel and reconciliation skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of AFSL obligations and managed investment scheme reporting (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Sound commercial judgement and the confidence to question numbers that don't add up
- Clear communicator who can work with builders, borrowers, investors and professional advisers
Why Renown
- Broad exposure across lending, mortgages and funds management in a single role
- Work directly with decision-makers — no layers between you and the people running the business
- A growing private credit business with genuine progression as the fund and loan book scale
- CBD office, supportive team and competitive remuneration based on experience
