We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Accountant to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality accounting and taxation services to our growing client base.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Accountant will be responsible for performing professional accounting duties and assisting the firm in delivering accounting, taxation and related services to its clients.

Key responsibilities will include

- Preparing and analysing financial statements, management accounts and other financial reports for clients.
- Preparing profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and other financial reports.
- Preparing income tax returns and supporting schedules for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and other business entities.
- Preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) and other taxation and statutory reporting documents.
- Examining financial records, accounting systems and business transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Reviewing income, expenditure,



assets and liabilities and ensuring transactions are correctly recorded and classified.
- Assisting clients with taxation, accounting and financial reporting requirements.
- Providing accounting and taxation advice to clients in accordance with their individual and business circumstances.
- Assisting with tax planning and identifying legitimate taxation and financial management opportunities for clients.
- Preparing and maintaining general ledgers, journals and account reconciliations.
- Analysing financial information and providing reports to assist clients in understanding the financial performance and position of their businesses.
- Assisting clients with budgeting, cash-flow management and financial forecasting.
- Liaising with clients to obtain financial information and supporting documentation required for the preparation of accounts and taxation returns.
- Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office and other relevant authorities on client matters where required.
- Ensuring accounting records, working papers and client files are maintained accurately and in accordance with professional and regulatory requirements.
- Identifying discrepancies, irregularities and areas requiring further investigation in clients' financial records.
- Keeping abreast of relevant developments in taxation, accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Working collaboratively with other members of the Conroys Accountants team to ensure assignments are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
- Participating in professional development and training to maintain and enhance accounting and taxation knowledge.
- Performing other professional accounting duties reasonably associated with the position of Accountant as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE The successful applicant should have:

- A relevant Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Commerce,



Business or a related discipline; or at least five years of relevant accounting experience that is commensurate with the requirements of the position.
- Relevant professional accounting experience.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles, taxation requirements and financial reporting practices.
- Experience in preparing financial statements, taxation returns, BAS and other accounting documentation.
- Experience using accounting and financial management software.
- Demonstrated ability to manage accounting assignments accurately and within required deadlines.

Relevant professional membership or progress towards membership of a recognised Australian professional accounting body will be highly regarded. SKILLS AND QUALITIES The successful candidate will demonstrate:

- A commitment to continuing professional development and maintaining current knowledge of accounting and taxation requirements.
