Part Time Temporary Accountant

Your new companyHays is partnering with an established organisation operating within the manufacturing industry to recruit an experienced Accountant on a six-month temporary basis. Located in the Greater Hobart area, this part-time position offers flexibility across two to three days per week and the opportunity to contribute to a practical, close-knit finance setting.

Your new roleWorking closely with the finance team, you will provide hands-on support across a range of accounting activities. Your key responsibilities will include completing reconciliations, preparing journals, assisting with financial reporting and supporting the accounts payable function.You will also work closely with the organisation’s external auditors, sourcing financial information and documentation and responding to requests as required. This is a varied and practical role that will require attention to detail, sound accounting knowledge and a willingness to assist across the broader finance function.

What you’ll need to succeedTo be successful in this position,



you will have previous experience in a hands-on accounting role and be confident in completing reconciliations, journals and financial reporting tasks. You will have strong attention to detail, effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Experience using SAP and previous exposure to the manufacturing sector will be highly regarded, although neither is essential. Most importantly, you will be adaptable, organised and comfortable supporting a busy finance team.
