Role Description This full-time, in office Junior Accountant role is based in Emu Park, QLD.

The Junior

Accountant supports daily financial operations, including processing invoices, recording journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities. The role includes maintaining accurate financial records, preparing basic financial reports, and supporting the finance team with budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation.

Accountant also helps ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and relevant regulations,



while collaborating with other departments to resolve queries and improve financial processes.

Qualifications

- Foundational accounting skills, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation, and journal entry preparation.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, or similar) and strong Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of basic financial reporting, budgeting, and the principles of cost control and variance analysis.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or progress toward a degree/diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Understanding of Australian accounting standards and taxation basics is advantageous.
- Prior internship or entry-level experience in an accounting or finance function within resources or related industries is beneficial.
