- Six-month fixed-term contract, commencing in late October
- 2.5–3 days per week, with flexibility around days and working hours
- Lonsdale Street, Melbourne CBD
Looking for a part-time accounts role to see you through Christmas and into the new year? This six-month opportunity offers variety, flexible schedule and a thorough handover to help you settle in.
The Company
Belkirk is partnering with a construction company based on Lonsdale Street in Melbourne’s CBD. Working across the finance, operations and project teams, you will help keep invoices, reconciliations and project records accurate and up to date.
The Role
This is an accounts-focused position suited to someone with a grounding in finance administration who enjoys working through the detail and keeping things organised.
Commencing in late October, you will receive direct training from the current team member during the October and November claim cycles, giving you time to understand the systems, processes and monthly deadlines.
Your responsibilities will include
- Processing invoices and Recipient Created Tax Invoices (RCTIs).
- Managing the accounts inbox and coordinating invoice approvals with project teams.
- Reconciling supplier accounts, corporate credit cards and employee expenses.
- Following up outstanding payments with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting bank guarantee records,
retention releases and subcontractor documentation.
- Maintaining project records, statutory declarations and supporting financial documentation.
- Assisting with month-end processing and reporting deadlines.
There is flexibility around your regular days and working hours. However, availability during month-end periods is essential to ensure invoices are processed and reporting deadlines are met.
Foundation for Success
You will bring
- Previous experience in accounts administration, accounts payable or receivable, or a similar support role.
- An understanding of invoicing, reconciliations and financial administration.
- Solid attention to detail and an organised approach to managing deadlines.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to follow up queries across different teams.
- The ability to work independently and ask questions when needed.
Construction experience is not essential. Experience with project management systems such as 4D would be helpful, although we will provide training.
