The Role: Accounts Officer - Reporting & Collections
We're seeking an Accounts Officer to join Coral Homes on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you'll support key business functions across insurance claims, subcontractor account recoveries, reporting, and accounts administration. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure claims are managed efficiently, outstanding accounts are resolved, and reporting activities are completed accurately and on time.
This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract based at our Head Office in Varsity Lakes, working 8:30am-5pm Monday-Thursday and 8:30am-4pm Fridays.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage construction insurance claims, including claim preparation, lodgement, follow-up, and resolution
- Monitor and recover outstanding subcontractor and supplier accounts, including back charge collections
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external parties to investigate and resolve account and claim-related matters
- Prepare and maintain regular reporting, ensuring data is accurate and up to date
- Support accounts payable activities, including invoice approvals and account administration
- Maintain accurate records and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies
- Provide general administration and team support as required
About You To be successful in this role you will have:
- Previous experience in accounts, accounts administration, collections, or a similar finance support role
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with databases and business systems
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and subcontractors
- A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering a high level of service
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate and resolve issues efficiently
- A positive, proactive, and team-oriented attitude
Highly Regarded
- Experience within the residential construction, building, or property industry
- Exposure to insurance claims administration
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts, collections, or recovery processes
- Knowledge of construction-related financial processes, back charges, or supplier account management
- Experience working with construction management, finance, or ERP systems
