About Us
Newcastle Automotive Solutions is expanding its calibration technician base, specialising in the calibration, diagnosis and testing of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for the collision repair and automotive glass industries. As modern vehicles become increasingly advanced and connected, correct ADAS calibration is critical to ensuring vehicle safety systems operate as the manufacturer intended. Many vehicles are fitted with forward-facing cameras mounted to or near the windscreen, requiring ADAS calibration following windscreen replacement.
We are seeking a skilled, reliable and motivated ADAS Calibration Technician to join our growing team.
About the Role
As an ADAS Calibration Technician, you will be responsible for the accurate calibration and diagnosis of vehicle camera, radar, lidar and ultrasonic sensor systems following new windscreen fitments, collision repairs, component replacement, wheel alignment and other repairs that require ADAS calibration. A key part of the position will involve attending vehicles following windscreen replacement and carrying out the required ADAS camera calibration in accordance with manufacturer procedures.
You will work with modern diagnostic and calibration equipment while following manufacturer-specific procedures to ensure systems such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring and Autonomous Emergency Braking operate correctly.
The position will involve working closely with collision repair centres, windscreen fitters and automotive glass companies and requires a high level of attention to detail, diagnostic ability and professional communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform static and dynamic ADAS calibrations using state-of-the-art diagnostic and calibration equipment.
- Carry out ADAS camera calibrations following current windscreen fitments and windscreen replacement.
- Determine manufacturer-specific ADAS calibration requirements following windscreen replacement.
- Work with windscreen fitters and automotive glass companies to coordinate calibration work.
- Verify correct operation and alignment of forward-facing cameras following windscreen replacement.
- Set up calibration areas, targets and equipment in accordance with vehicle manufacturer specifications.
- Carry out pre- and post-repair diagnostic scans.
- Use diagnostic scan tools and manufacturer information to verify sensor alignment, system operation and calibration requirements.
- Calibrate forward-facing cameras, radar sensors and other ADAS components.
- Diagnose ADAS systems that fail to calibrate and determine the underlying cause.
- Diagnose electrical and wiring faults within vehicle systems.
- Work closely with collision repair technicians, windscreen fitters, estimators and workshop management to coordinate calibration requirements.
- Accurately document all completed work, including diagnostic reports, calibration results, photographs and technician notes.
- Maintain calibration equipment, diagnostic tools and the work environment to a high professional standard.
- Follow OEM repair and calibration procedures.
- Stay up to date with new vehicle technology, ADAS developments and calibration procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must hold a recognised trade certificate in either Automotive Mechanical or Automotive Electrical. This is a mandatory requirement for the position.
- Trade Certificate in Automotive Mechanical or Automotive Electrical – Essential.
- 2–5 years' experience in automotive mechanical repairs, diagnostics, auto electrical work or ADAS calibration.
- Good understanding of vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
- Strong automotive diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to accurately follow technical and OEM procedures.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage mobile work requirements.
- Current driver's licence and suitable driving record.
Previous experience with ADAS calibration equipment such as Autel is beneficial; however, ADAS-specific training will be provided for the right qualified tradesperson.

Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:
- ADAS calibration and diagnostics.
- ADAS camera calibration following windscreen replacement.
- Automotive glass or windscreen replacement industry.
- Autel diagnostic and ADAS calibration equipment.
- Automotive electrical diagnosis and wiring repairs.
- Collision repair or insurance repair environments.
- Dealership diagnostic operations.
- Mobile automotive or diagnostic services.
- Reading and following OEM repair and calibration procedures.
