About the role The Advanced Scope Pharmacy Technician contributes to patient care by providing advanced clinical support and pharmacy services under the supervision of a pharmacist. Working across Metro North Cancer Care pharmacy services, primarily at Caboolture Hospital, Bribie Island Satellite Hospital and North Lakes Health Precinct, the role supports safe, efficient and compliant medication management and service delivery.
The successful candidate will support the operational coordination of pharmacy support staff, assist with cancer care medication dispensing and supply processes, and contribute to inventory, aseptic stock and prescription management. As part of the Pharmacy Technician leadership team, the role also provides mentoring and professional development support to pharmacy assistants and technicians while working collaboratively with pharmacists and multidisciplinary teams.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Coordinate pharmacy support staff and contribute to the efficient operation of Cancer Care Pharmacy services across multiple Metro North sites.
- Support the preparation and dispensing of PBS and non-PBS medicines associated with chemotherapy and cancer treatment.
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, storage, distribution and imprest stock requirements.
- Assist with aseptic stock ordering,
prescription management, invoicing and other specialised Cancer Care Pharmacy processes.
- Provide mentoring, supervision and professional development support to less experienced pharmacy assistants and technicians.
