We are seeking an experienced

API Automation Test Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering enterprise-scale digital solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in

API testing, automation frameworks, contract testing, and non-functional testing (NFT)

, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of distributed applications and microservices.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive API test strategies for RESTful and event-driven services.

- Build and maintain robust automation frameworks using

Java or C#

.

- Develop automated API test suites using tools such as

Rest Assured, Karate, Postman/Newman, WireMock, or Playwright API

.

- Perform

Contract Testing using tools such as

Pact to validate interactions between microservices.

- Conduct

Non-Functional Testing (NFT)

including performance, scalability, reliability, and resilience testing.

- Create and maintain CI/CD-integrated automated test pipelines.

- Work closely with developers, architects, and product teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC.

- Validate API security, authentication, authorization, and data integrity.

- Analyze test results,



identify defects, and drive resolution through collaboration with engineering teams.

- Contribute to quality engineering best practices, standards, and governance.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years of experience in Software Testing and Test Automation.

- Robust hands-on experience in

API Testing and API Automation

.

- Proficiency in

Java or C#

programming.

- Experience with automation frameworks such as:

- Rest Assured

- Karate

- Postman/Newman

- Playwright API

- Selenium (preferred)

- Strong understanding of:

- REST APIs

- JSON/XML

- OAuth2, JWT Authentication

- Microservices Architecture

- Hands-on experience in

Contract Testing using tools such as

Pact

.

- Experience with

Non-Functional Testing including:

- Performance Testing

- Load Testing

- Stress Testing

- Reliability/Resilience Testing

- Familiarity with tools such as

JMeter, Gatling, k6, or LoadRunner

.

- Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.

- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
