We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our small Kununurra based team as an Assistant Accountant. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office.
Your responsibilities will include
- Processing Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, payment tracking, debt collection, payment processing and reconciliation.
- Assist with managing creditors accounts, processing vendor invoices and payment runs.
- Preparing and lodging BAS, payroll tax, ABS and other regulatory returns as directed.
- Assist with Bank Reconciliation and General Ledger reconciliation.
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities including preparation of monthly management accounts and year-end financial statements and annual audits.
- Assist the Wyndham Port and Fuel Managers with finance related transactions and activities as directed.
- Adhoc duties including filing and data entry.
Qualifications: To be successful for this role you must possess the following:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar accounting role.
- Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite of products with experience using finance ERP systems.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and contribute effectively within a small team, with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work through processes with a methodical approach concurrently with attention to detail whilst maintaining a proactive approach in all job-related activities.
- Be based in Kununurra and hold a current WA C-class driver’s licence.
