As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our team and support the day-to-day financial operations of the business.

The Prospect

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to a finance professional who is confident managing day-to-day transactional finance and keen to contribute to month-end, compliance and other value adding activities.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for core transactional processes across accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations, while also supporting the month-end close, preparing journals and assisting with statutory lodgements.

We are looking for someone who can work independently, take ownership of their responsibilities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with month-end close, including preparing accruals, prepayments and journal entries

- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, credit card and clearing accounts

- Assist with the preparation and lodgement of statutory obligations, including BAS, IAS, payroll tax and superannuation

- Oversee the accounts payable process, managing exceptions, approvals and supplier queries

- Accounts receivable processing, debtor management and collections follow-up

- Identify and support process improvements and system enhancements across the finance function

- Provide ad hoc support to the Finance team as required

What You’ll Bring





You are a reliable and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys taking ownership of your work and delivering accurate outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- 3 years' experience in an Assistant Accountant, Finance Officer or similar role

- Strong end-to-end accounts payable experience

- Experience with accounts receivable, debtor management and collections

- Experience assisting with month-end close, journals and balance sheet reconciliations

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

- Experience using SAP, particularly SAP Business One, will be highly regarded

- Experience within manufacturing, engineering or project-based environments and relevant finance or accounting qualifications will also be advantageous
