Position Summary:

As an Assistant Coach at Bright Stars Academy, you play a vital support role on the pitch/court, assisting Lead Sports Coaches in running safe, organised, and high-energy training sessions. You provide one-on-one encouragement to participants, assist with equipment positioning, help manage group lines, and ensure no child gets left behind during drills.

Key Responsibilities

1. On-Field Coaching & Drill Support

- Drill Facilitation Support: Assist the Lead Coach by managing group lines, resetting cones, retrieving balls, and keeping drills moving smoothly.
- Individual Encouragement: Work closely with hesitant, shy, or younger players, offering one-on-one assistance to help them master skill techniques.
- Demonstration Partner: Serve as a demonstration partner for the Lead Coach during skill explanations and game setups.

2. Pitch Logistics & Setup

- Equipment Setup & Pack-Down: Help unload gear, set up goals, place pitch markers/cones, sort bibs, and pack away equipment post-session.
- Pitch Bounds & Safety: Keep children within pitch boundaries, manage water breaks,



and assist with maintaining clean, safe playing areas.

3. Culture & Champion Assistance

- Positive Energy: High-five participants, cheer on teams, and maintain a positive, welcoming atmosphere on the field.
- Pillar Rotation: Rotate into Champion support roles (e.g., check-in desk assistance or sticker distribution) as directed by site management.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Enthusiasm for Youth Sports: Solid desire to work with young children and learn youth coaching techniques.
- Team Player: Ability to take direction from Lead Coaches, communicate clearly, and maintain high physical energy.
- Punctuality: Highly dependable with reliable transport across weekend schedules.
- Compliance: Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and active ABN.

Job Types: Part-time, Subcontract, Casual, Volunteer Pay: $26.50 – $28.50 per hour
