Georgiana Molloy Anglican School (GMAS) is seeking an experienced and highly collaborative educator to join our Primary Leadership Team as Assistant Head of Primary School (Teaching and Learning).
This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished educator ready to take the next step in educational leadership and make a meaningful contribution to the continued development of teaching and learning across our Primary School.
Working closely with the Head of Primary School and Primary Leadership Team, the successful applicant will provide leadership across curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and reporting, data-informed practice and professional growth, while maintaining an active classroom teaching role.
About the Role The Assistant Head of Primary School (Teaching and Learning) will play an important role in supporting a consistent, contemporary and evidence-informed approach to teaching and learning from Little Georgies through to Year 6.
Key responsibilities include
- leading the planning, development, implementation and ongoing improvement of curriculum and pedagogy;
- supporting a seamless and appropriately sequenced curriculum across the Primary School;
- promoting evidence-informed and data-informed approaches to improving student learning;
- leading and supporting curriculum development and change;
- strengthening consistency in assessment, reporting and curriculum mapping;
- mentoring, coaching and supporting teachers to develop their professional practice;
- supporting early career teachers and staff new to the School;
- observing teaching practice and providing constructive professional feedback;
- supporting the effective use of digital technologies within teaching and learning;
- contributing to NAPLAN, SCSA and other internal and external assessment and reporting requirements; and
- working collaboratively with the Head of Primary School and Primary Leadership Team to support the strategic and day-to-day leadership of the Primary School.
The position incorporates a 0.40 FTE teaching load, providing the successful applicant with the opportunity to remain actively engaged in classroom practice and model high-quality teaching.
About You
We are looking for an educator who is passionate about excellent teaching and learning and who can positively influence, support and develop others.
The successful applicant will demonstrate strong educational leadership, contemporary curriculum and pedagogical knowledge, highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, and the capacity to build positive professional relationships across the School community.
Importantly, you will be a collaborative and approachable leader who values teamwork, skilled growth, student wellbeing and continuous improvement.
Applicants must hold, or be eligible to hold, full teacher registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) and satisfy the School's employment screening requirements.
