Assistant Minister – Youth & Children

Oakhurst Anglican Church is looking for an Assistant Minister with a passion for children, youth and the gospel to join our ministry team.
We are a church with a simple mission:
To make and grow disciples of Christ.
We are seeking someone who loves Jesus, loves God's Word and loves seeing children and young people come to know Christ, grow in faith and serve him.
About the role
Responsibilities will include
- Leading and developing our children's and youth ministries, which include Sunday kids and junior high, Friday night kids club and youth group, and primary school Scripture.
- Teaching the Bible clearly and faithfully.
- Building strong relationships with children, teenagers and families.
- Equipping and encouraging volunteers and ministry leaders.
- Developing pathways of evangelism and discipleship from childhood through the teenage years.
- Supporting parents as they seek to raise their children in the knowledge and love of Jesus.
- Organising and participating in camps, events, outreach and other ministry activities.
- Contributing to the broader ministry of Oakhurst Anglican through preaching, services, pastoral ministry, evangelism and discipleship where appropriate and according to your gifts.
There is scope for the successful applicant to bring their own ideas,
gifts and initiative to the role. Remuneration will be in accordance with applicable Sydney Anglican guidelines, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
About you
You will be someone who:
- Loves Jesus and is committed to following him.
- Is passionate about proclaiming the gospel and making disciples.
- Holds a high view of the authority and sufficiency of God's Word.
- Has experience in children's and/or youth ministry.
- Enjoys recruiting, encouraging and equipping others.
- Is relational, humble, approachable and willing to get involved.
- Has appropriate theological training and ministry experience, or is undertaking suitable theological training.
This position would be suitable for those who are pursuing ordained or lay ministry. The successful applicant will be required to satisfy all relevant Sydney Anglican Safe Ministry requirements, including holding a current Working With Children Check.
