Associate Director - Business Services

Sydney CBD | $180,000 –$200,000 + super | Partnership Pathway | Hybrid Working An established and progressive Chartered Accounting and Advisory firm in the Sydney CBD is looking for a Senior Manager / Associate Director to take ownership of a key division alongside a highly experienced Partner.

This is a genuine leadership opportunity, taking responsibility for an established $1.1m client portfolio, leading a capable team and playing a key role in growing the division.

The Firm

This is a medium-sized, progressive Chartered Accounting firm with a broad service offering across Business Services, Tax, Advisory and Virtual CFO .

The firm has invested heavily in technology, systems and processes and has built a modern, forward-thinking culture. The leadership team is well balanced, with a roughly 50/50 split of male and female leaders, and there is genuine flexibility with hybrid working.

You'll be working closely with a highly technical Partner with approximately 20 years' experience across Big 4, mid-tier and boutique firms , giving you plenty of autonomy while still having senior technical support when required.

The Opportunity

You'll effectively take ownership of the division underneath the Partner, with responsibility for workflow, client relationships, team leadership and the continued growth of the portfolio .

The portfolio currently generates approximately $1.1m in fees , with plans to grow this to around $1.3m .

You'll inherit a capable team consisting of a Graduate, strong Intermediate and experienced Senior Accountant ,



so this isn't a role where you're walking into an underperforming team that needs fixing. Instead, the focus is on providing leadership, keeping work moving, developing the team and proactively driving the division forward.

Clients are predominantly family groups with active trading businesses , alongside exposure to international groups and an ASX-listed client.

The technical work is broad and includes:

- Complex Business Services and Tax
- Written tax and structuring advice
- Consolidations
- Tax planning and restructuring
- Business and commercial advisory
- Higher-level client relationship management

What They're Looking For You'll ideally be CA/CPA qualified with strong Australian public practice experience at Senior Manager, Associate Director or equivalent level.

You'll be technically strong, but equally important is your ability to lead people, manage workflow and take genuine ownership of a portfolio .

They're looking for someone who doesn't need to wait for a Partner to tell them what needs to happen next – someone comfortable driving the team, managing deadlines, building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities to grow the division.
