Access Financial Management
Melbourne
Job Description
What if being a great financial adviser was simply about being a great financial adviser?
n
No prospecting.
n
No requirement to bring a book of clients.
n
No driving around Melbourne visiting clients.
n
No evenings.
n
No weekends.
n
And no measuring your worth by how much product you sell or how many recent clients you find.
n
Instead, imagine being able to spend your time doing what you became a financial adviser to do:
n
Helping people make better decisions about money so they can make better decisions about life.
n
If that sounds refreshing, we'd like you to keep reading.
n
We think financial advice should be about more than money
n
At Access Financial Management, our purpose is to
help people live even happier lives
.
n
Of course, investment returns matter. Superannuation matters. Tax matters. Cashflow matters.
n
But ultimately, money is a resource for living.
n
That's why our philosophy is:
n
Values first. Planning second. Product last.
n
We help clients understand what matters to them, align their capital with those priorities and make thoughtful decisions about their future.
n
We call that achieving a better
Return on Life
.
n
And we're looking for an experienced Financial Adviser who wants to do the same.
n
You may not even be looking for another job
n
In fact, we'd be quite happy if you're not.
n
Perhaps you're good at what you do.
n
Perhaps your clients value you and your employer values you.
n
But maybe you've started wondering whether there's another version of your career.
n
One where your potential is stretched rather than contained.
n
Where you're surrounded by people who want you to grow.
n
Where advice is about conversations rather than transactions.
n
Where your technical knowledge is important, but so are your curiosity, judgement and humanity.
n
And where having an exceptional career doesn't require sacrificing an exceptional life.
n
If you've quietly wondered whether you're capable of more, we'd like to meet you.
n
What would you actually do?
n
You would take responsibility for long‐term relationships with AFM clients and become one of the people they turn to when important financial decisions need to be made.
n
You'll lead conversations that uncover values, priorities and goals.
n
You'll take complexity and make it simple.
n
You'll provide holistic financial advice and work with our paraplanning and client service teams to turn that advice into action.
n
You'll challenge clients when appropriate, reassure them when necessary and provide perspective when markets, media or life create uncertainty.
n
You'll help clients stay accountable to the plans they've made.
n
Most importantly, you'll build the kind of relationships where clients think:
n
"Before I make this decision, I'd like to talk to my adviser."
n
That's our definition of trust.
n
What you won't have to do
n
This matters.
n
You
won't
be expected to:
n
n
find your own clients or bring a book of business;
n
spend your time cold prospecting or chasing leads;
n
routinely travel to clients;
n
work evenings or weekends; or
n
sacrifice the important parts of your life to demonstrate commitment to your career.
n
n
We want your energy focused on becoming an exceptional adviser.
n
And when the working day finishes, we want you to have energy left for the people and things that matter to you.
n
Because
Return on Life
should apply to our team as much as it does to our clients.
n
Who are we looking for?
n
We need someone with experience.
n
You'll need sound financial planning fundamentals, a strong understanding of superannuation and the professional qualifications and standing required to provide financial advice in Australia.
n
But that's merely the entry ticket.
n
What we're really interested in is
how you think and who you are becoming
.
n
You might be right for us if you:
n
n
are genuinely curious about people;
n
ask good questions and listen to the answers;
n
can explain complicated things simply;
n
take ownership rather than wait to be told;
n
do what you say you'll do;
n
enjoy being part of a team;
n
are proactive and resourceful;
n
welcome feedback and want to keep growing;
n
care more about finding the right answer than being right; and
n
believe financial advice can make a meaningful difference to someone's life.
n
n
Technical knowledge can continue to grow.
n
Character is harder to teach.
n
A little about our culture
n
We believe in
gratitude and contribution
.
n
We call it having our arrows out.
n
It means looking beyond ourselves and asking:
n
"How can I contribute?"
n
To a client.
n
To a colleague.
n
To our profession.
n
And to the people around us.
n
We don't expect perfection. We do expect curiosity, accountability, integrity and a willingness to grow.
n
We take our work seriously.
n
We don't believe we need to take ourselves too seriously.
n
Maybe you're comfortable where you are
n
That's okay.
n
This advertisement isn't designed to convince everybody to apply.
n
It's written for the adviser who reads it and feels a little uncomfortable — in a good way.
n
The person who thinks:
n
"That's the kind of adviser I want to be."
n
If that's you, we'd like to have a conversation.
n
Not an interrogation.
n
Not a commitment.
n
Just a conversation about where you are, where you'd like to go, and whether Access Financial Management might be a place where you can become even better at something you're already good at.
n
Sometimes you don't need to be unhappy with where you are to be curious about where you could go next.
n
We'd be delighted to hear from you.
