Use Python, SQL and BI to turn complex data into real world applications in this 9-month initial contract. Your new company
Join a large, asset intensive enterprise in a hands on analytics and application development role supporting an established data and engineering capability.
Working alongside reliability engineers and data specialists, you'll help turn predictive model outputs and complex operational data into practical applications and dashboards. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong technical foundations who is keen to build their experience in industrial analytics, learn a specialised platform and work closely with experienced technical teams.
Your new role
As an Analytics & BI Engineer, you will:
Build applications and dashboards that turn complex data into useful insights for operational and business teams
Use Python and SQL to work with model outputs, operational and time-series data
Develop and enhance BI applications supporting asset health and maintenance decision-making
Work closely with reliability engineers and data scientists to understand requirements and translate analytical outputs into practical solutions
Integrate data from different enterprise systems and sources
Develop reusable components and contribute to broader application and data development
Learn and work with a specialised industrial analytics platform
Participate in an iterative development environment, incorporating feedback and peer review into your work
What you'll need to succeed
Strong Python skills and experience using SQL
Experience developing BI applications, dashboards or other data-driven applications An engineering, computer science, data or similarly technical background
Proven experience with data integration and working across multiple data sources
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into practical, usable solutions A collaborative approach, with a willingness to learn, take on feedback and iterate on your work
Confidence working with both technical specialists and broader business stakeholders
Experience or understanding of engineering, asset management, maintenance or reliability environments would be highly regarded, but isn't essential
Exposure to C#/.NET or front-end technologies such as JavaScript and CSS would be advantageous
Familiarity with semantic data models or ontology concepts would also be beneficial
Experience with industrial data platforms, historians or data warehouses, such as AVEVA PI or Snowflake, would be advantageous
Exposure to low-code or Industrial IoT platforms, AI/ML or time-series data would also be beneficial
