This is a hands-on position with responsibility for maintaining and repairing our hire fleet while managing the day-to-day organisation of the workshop. You will have the opportunity to effectively run your own workshop, supported by the expertise and resources of our experienced Mechanical Team based at the Toowoomba Head Office. The role offers a broad variety of work across petrol and diesel equipment, small engines, trailers, and other hire fleet assets. In addition to mechanical servicing and repairs, you will be responsible for workshop administration, maintenance scheduling, record keeping, and ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable, and available for hire.

This is a Permanent Part-Time position working 20–24 hours per week (negotiable), based at our Dalby Branch. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across a wide range of hire equipment.
- Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and breakdown repairs.
- Maintain the hire fleet to ensure equipment is protected, reliable, and hire-ready.
- Coordinate workshop activities and prioritise maintenance requirements.
- Manage service schedules and equipment maintenance records.
- Complete accurate and up-to-date service documentation and reporting.
- Liaise with the Branch Manager and Toowoomba Head Office Mechanical Team regarding fleet maintenance requirements.
- Organise parts, consumables, and workshop inventory as required.

- Minimise equipment downtime through effective troubleshooting and planning.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with WHS policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workshop environment.
- Occasionally attend customer sites to perform maintenance or breakdown support.
- Support branch operations by providing practical mechanical advice and technical assistance.

If you have a solid mechanical background, take pride in your work, and enjoy working autonomously while remaining connected to a supportive team, we would love to hear from you.

What We Are Looking For

- Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter, Diesel Mechanic, Small Engine Mechanic, or similar trade qualification.

- Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability.
- Experience servicing and maintaining small engines, diesel equipment, and general hire fleet assets (desirable).
- Ability to work independently and manage workshop priorities with minimal supervision.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Good computer competency, including the ability to maintain service records and utilise maintenance systems.

What We Offer

- Permanent Part-Time employment with flexible working arrangements of 20–24 hours per week.
- The opportunity to effectively run your own workshop and make the role your own.
- Ongoing support from our experienced Workshop Team based at the Toowoomba Head Office.
- Variety of work across a diverse range of equipment.
- A supportive, friendly, and team-focused culture.
- Competitive remuneration package.
- Stable employment with a trusted and well-established Australian business.
