Bricklayer

EMCG Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Bricklayers to join our team working across commercial construction projects throughout the Perth metropolitan area.

We are looking for skilled tradespeople who can work independently and as part of a team, delivering high-quality brick and blockwork in accordance with project drawings, specifications and required construction standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities The successful applicant will be responsible for:

- Reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans and specifications to understand wall layouts, dimensions and masonry requirements.
- Setting out brick and blockwork accurately in accordance with project drawings and site requirements.
- Laying bricks, concrete blocks and other masonry products to construct walls, partitions and other structural and architectural elements.
- Preparing and applying mortar to achieve the required bond, joint thickness and finish.
- Ensuring masonry work is constructed accurately to line, level, plumb and specified dimensions.
- Measuring, cutting and shaping bricks and blocks using appropriate hand tools and masonry cutting equipment where required.
- Constructing masonry around openings and incorporating items such as lintels, flashings, ties and other specified components.
- Completing face brickwork, blockwork and other masonry finishes to the required quality standard.
- Carrying out repairs, alterations and maintenance to existing brick and block structures where required.
- Safely using and maintaining bricklaying tools, plant and equipment.




- Working from scaffolds and other approved access systems and assisting with restricted-height scaffold activities where appropriately trained and authorised.
- Coordinating with supervisors and other trades to ensure masonry works are completed in accordance with the construction program.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area and complying with all project WHS requirements, SWMS and company procedures.

Skills and Experience To be considered for this position, applicants should have:
- Relevant trade qualifications in bricklaying or equivalent demonstrated industry experience.
- Proven experience undertaking bricklaying and blocklaying work on construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of brick and block construction methods, mortar application, setting out and masonry installation.
- Ability to confidently use bricklaying hand tools and masonry cutting equipment.
- Strong attention to line, level, plumb, dimensions and quality of finished work.
- Ability to work productively both independently and within a construction team.
- Positive understanding of construction site safety requirements.
- Construction White Card.
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
