Help build a better business from the ground up
About our client
Our client is a well-established, locally owned South Australian builder with more than 25 years in the industry. It started as a residential builder and has grown into a full-service construction company working in residential, commercial and civil. Its portfolio includes hundreds of completed projects, from housing to multi-storey apartments and community developments, and it's trusted by some of the country's leading developers.
Quality, safety and innovation sit at the heart of the business, and every project is delivered by its own in-house team. Having recently reached some major growth milestones, they're now investing in the business behind the buildings.
The opportunity The business is in the middle of a company-wide transformation. They're systemising how they work: cutting inefficient processes, lifting productivity, and building better onboarding, training and development for their people. The goal is simple: make it a better place to work.
The Operations Manager is designing the concepts and workflows. Now he needs someone alongside him to take those ideas through to full implementation, making sure new processes are adopted, followed and improved until the results are delivered.
This role reaches every division and function in the business. If you like seeing the whole picture, getting things done, and leaving systems better than you found them, this is a rare chance to help shape a growing builder from the inside.
What you'll be doing
- Documenting and implementing streamlined processes, procedures and systems across the business
- Setting up and maintaining the administrative systems that support each function
- Supporting business systems so they meet operating and reporting needs
- Helping plan and roll out process and system improvement initiatives
- Owning the organisational actions register: assigning owners and due dates, following up, and making sure actions are closed out
- Taking minutes at management meetings and turning decisions into tracked actions
- Monitoring workflows and escalating overdue or at-risk items to management
- Maintaining registers, trackers and document control systems
- Preparing reports, presentations, correspondence and business documents
About you
- 2–3 years' experience in administration, executive support or business coordination
- Experience supporting operational teams in a fast-paced environment
- Construction, civil or maintenance industry experience is a bonus, not a must
- Sharp attention to detail and an excellent command of written English
- Tech-savvy: confident in Microsoft Office and quick to pick up recent software
- Clear communicator, whether in writing, in person or visually
- Organised, self-motivated and comfortable juggling competing priorities
- A genuine interest in improving how things work, and the drive to follow through
This role suits a business administration graduate ready to put their skills into practice, or an experienced office support professional looking to step up into a role with real influence.
