About us
WA Professional Electrical (WAPE) is a growing commercial electrical contracting business, which began with a simple goal; to provide dependable, high-quality electrical services that clients could trust. From our early days delivering smaller works and service jobs, we’ve steadily grown into a business capable of managing complex commercial & government projects across education centres, medical facilities, childcare centres, retail fit-outs, and other high profile public facing infrastructure.
Today, WA Professional Electrical is proud to be a trusted partner for builders, developers, and facility managers throughout Western Australia. By combining industry experience with a forward-thinking approach, we continue to grow while staying true to our commitment: efficient solutions, compliant installations, and seamless delivery.
About the role
We're looking for an organised, proactive Business Support Officer to help keep our projects, tender activities and business processes running efficiently. You'll provide administrative and coordination support across operations, commercial and HSE activities, and offering systems and business support. You'll have ownership of your assigned tasks, with guidance, priorities and approvals provided by the relevant managers.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain project documents and registers, coordinate correspondence and outstanding queries, prepare purchase orders and follow up deliveries
- Help prepare variation and claim documentation, reporting inputs, and project quality and handover records
- Monitor tender inboxes and platforms, track opportunities and deadlines, maintain current tender documents and issue supplier requests for quotation
- Follow up pricing, prepare and format submissions, and assist with take-off preparation and specification review under guidance
- Maintain training, competency and induction records, track document expiries, organise approved HSE documentation and follow up outstanding information and actions
- Maintain templates and registers, format company policies and procedures, collate reporting information and contribute practical improvements to filing, documentation and everyday workflows
About you
- Organisation and follow-through: You keep track of deadlines, manage competing tasks and raise issues before they become problems
- Attention to detail: You check your work and take pride in accurate records and well-presented documents
- Clear communication: You can write a qualified email, follow up a supplier and keep colleagues informed
- Practical computer skills: You're comfortable with Outlook, Word, Excel, PDF documents and shared filing systems, and can learn new software
- Initiative and sound judgement: You look for useful next steps, suggest improvements and know when to seek clarification or approval
- Experience in construction, trades or another project-based business would be beneficial, but electrical industry experience is not essential
What you can expect
- Variety and involvement. Your work will support different parts of the business, giving you a practical understanding of how projects move from tender through to delivery
- Direct support from management. You’ll work alongside experienced people who can provide guidance and help you build your knowledge of our industry and processes.
- The opportunity to contribute. As WAPE grows, you’ll help maintain and improve the systems, templates and processes the team uses every day. Practical ideas and a fresh perspective are welcome.
- Room to develop. There is scope to build your commercial, operational and systems capability as your experience and confidence grow.
