GetCareers is currently looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals who are eager to undertake a Cabinet Making Apprenticeship with established and reputable companies. These opportunities are particularly well suited to motivated and committed individuals looking to start a hands-on career in the cabinet making and furniture industry, where you can earn while you learn and gain a nationally recognised qualification - Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology upon completion.
As part of the role, you will develop valuable practical skills and experience in cabinet making, furniture construction and woodworking, while building a strong foundation for a rewarding career in the industry.
Two positions are available, with one position located north of the river and one position located south of the river.
2nd and 3rd year apprentices looking to continue their apprenticeship are strongly encouraged to apply.
Employment Details
Location: Perth Metropolitan Area – North and South of the River
Employment Type: Full-time (5 days per week, 38 hours standard)
Term of Apprenticeship: 3.5 years
Qualification: Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology (MSF30322)
What You'll Learn
Working alongside experienced tradespeople, you will develop skills in:
- Examining, understanding, interpreting, and following plans and drawings
- Selecting the right materials for the job
- Marking, cutting, and shaping materials
- Assembling parts to form furniture
- Fitting locks, drawers, and shelves
- Repairing and refurbishing old and antique furniture
- Safe use of tools, machinery and equipment
- Measuring and accurately preparing materials
- Working with a variety of materials used in cabinet making
- Finishing and presenting completed furniture and cabinetry
- Workplace health and safety
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environment

- Physically capable of performing practical, hands-on work
- Comfortable working in a workshop and physically demanding workplace
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a positive work and team ethic
- Able to work effectively in a team, follow instructions, and take direction
- Able to communicate confidently and respectfully with customers and team members
- Safety-conscious and committed to following safe work practices
- Well presented and professional
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to learning and developing new skills
- Motivated to build a long-term career in the cabinet making and furniture industry
- Committed to completing the full term of the apprenticeship while working full-time
- Previous experience is advantageous but not essential
- 2nd and 3rd year apprentices looking to continue their apprenticeship are strongly encouraged to apply

Eligibility Criteria
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Reside within the Perth Metropolitan Area due to the location of the roles
- Hold a valid Driver’s Licence and have reliable transport
- Hold a valid Construction White Card
