Thunderbird Motel Yass is looking for a Casual Chef/Cook to join our friendly and professional team.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Cook or Chef looking for flexible casual work in a busy hotel environment. The role will provide variety, with shifts potentially covering breakfast, dinner service, functions and group bookings.
About the Role
As a Casual Chef/Cook, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing and cooking quality meals for our hotel guests
- Working across breakfast, dinner, functions and group bookings as required
- Preparing food efficiently for individual and larger group services
- Following recipes, presentation standards and food safety requirements
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen
- Assisting with stock control and minimising food waste
- Working effectively during busy service periods
- Working collaboratively with the wider hotel team
About You We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous commercial kitchen, Cook or Chef experience
- Hotel Cook/Chef experience will be highly regarded
- Is confident working across different types of service
- Has a positive, reliable and can-do attitude
- Can work independently as well as part of a team
- Takes pride in preparing quality food
- Is organised and able to work efficiently in a busy workplace
- Has a good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
- Has a current Food Safety Supervisor certificate will be highly regarded but not essential.
