Casual Child Care Worker

- Join Willoughby City Council's established Children's Services team and help create safe, nurturing and engaging learning environments for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.

- Enjoy adaptable casual shifts that can fit around your lifestyle, with opportunities to work across Council's Children's Services.

- Hourly rate from $36.79– $39.89 (based on experience) plus 12% Superannuation.

We are seeking Casual Child Care Workers to support the delivery of innovative educational and recreational programs for primary school aged children. You will work closely with children, families and colleagues to create positive experiences while ensuring the well-being, safety and inclusion of all children in care.

About the Role:

As the Casual Child Care Worker you will:

- Provide a safe, inclusive and engaging environment for children aged 5 to 12 years.

- Interact with children in a positive, supportive and active manner.





- Support the delivery of educational, recreational and leisure-based programs aligned with the My Time, Our Place Framework.

- Build respectful and professional relationships with children, families and colleagues.

- Assist with the setup and pack down of daily activities and programs.

- Always maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios and effective supervision.

- Maintain high standards of health, safety and hygiene.

- Assist with observing children's participation and contributing to program planning and evaluation.

- Where required, assist children with personal care needs.

- Follow all Council and Children's Services policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

- Attend training, workshops and team meetings as required.

What You’ll Bring:

- Qualification in OOSH, School Age Care or Early Childhood Education and Care.

- Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and My Time, Our Place Framework for School Age Care.

- Awareness of cultural and linguistic diversity within the community.

- Computer literacy and basic administrative skills.

- Experience facilitating art and craft, music, movement, games and dramatic play activities.

Desirable:

- Knowledge of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).





- Understanding of multicultural and anti-bias approaches to early childhood education.

- Basic computer and administrative skills.

- Experience facilitating creative activities including art, music, movement and dramatic play.
