The Child Protection Counselling Service (CPCS) is seeking an experienced Clinical Lead to provide clinical leadership to a specialist therapeutic team supporting children, young people, and families affected by abuse, neglect, trauma, and domestic and family violence.
CPCS is a key therapeutic service supporting children, young people, families, and carers in contact with the child protection system. Working across family preservation, restoration, and placement stability, we provide trauma-informed, recovery-oriented interventions that strengthen safety, support recovery from trauma, enhance caregiver capacity and support secure attachment relationships. Our work aims to strengthen safety, support recovery from trauma, and improve stability and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people across the Central Coast.
About The Opportunity As the Clinical Lead - CPCS, you will provide specialist clinical leadership, supervision, and support to a team delivering counselling and therapeutic interventions across a range of complex child protection matters.
In This Role You Will
- Lead and support a specialist counselling team to deliver evidence based, trauma informed care.
- Provide clinical supervision, consultation, and guidance for complex child protection cases.
- Maintain a reduced clinical caseload while balancing leadership and service development responsibilities.
- Strengthen partnerships across health and government agencies to support integrated models of care.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and promote best practice aligned with PARVAN frameworks and standards.

- Extensive experience working with children, young people, and families affected by abuse, neglect, trauma, and family violence.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership and supervision experience within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Advanced clinical reasoning skills and the ability to manage complex and sensitive casework.
- Strong understanding of trauma informed practice, child protection systems, and evidence based interventions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a commitment to culturally safe, person-centred care.
