About The Opportunity Join the Peer Supported Transfer of Care (Peer STOC) Program and make a meaningful difference in the lives of people transitioning from inpatient mental health care back into the community. As a Mental Health Peer Worker, you will use your lived experience to provide recovery-focused, non-clinical support and help consumers achieve their recovery goals.
- Support consumers transitioning from acute mental health services into the community
- Use your lived experience to inspire hope, recovery and empowerment
- Provide one-on-one and group peer support interventions
- Assist consumers to connect with services, supports and community resources
- Work collaboratively with clinicians and multidisciplinary teams
- Contribute to recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and consumer-led care

- Lived experience of mental health challenges and personal recovery
- Ability to safely and appropriately use lived experience in a peer support role
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Commitment to recovery-oriented, person-centred and trauma-informed practice
- Ability to work collaboratively with consumers, carers and healthcare professionals
- Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work, or willingness to undertake the qualification
