Role Description The Chef role at Lanterns Food Group is a full-time, on-site position based in Narre Warren, VIC. The Chef will prepare, cook, and oversee production of premium, ready-to-cook and ready-to-serve items, ensuring each batch meets quality and consistency standards. This role includes developing and refining recipes, supporting custom flavor and product development, and collaborating with the production team to maintain HACCP-aligned practices.
The Chef will monitor food safety and hygiene,
conduct quality checks on ingredients and finished products, and help optimize processes for scalable, productive output. The position also involves working closely with operations and management to support new product launches and continuous improvement across the kitchen and production areas.
Qualifications
- Professional culinary training or equivalent experience in commercial kitchens, food manufacturing, or high-volume foodservice.
- Strong skills in recipe development, menu planning, and scaling handmade food into consistent, commercially viable products.
- Knowledge of food safety, HACCP principles, and hygiene standards, with experience in structured production environments.
- Ability to manage multiple production tasks, prioritize workload, and maintain high quality in fast-paced settings.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across kitchen, production, and operations teams.
- Attention to detail in presentation, portioning, and flavor profiling, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Experience in ready-to-cook or ready-to-serve products, QSR, catering, or large-scale event food is highly regarded.
- Flexibility to work on-site full time in Narre Warren, VIC, and adapt to changing production schedules and business needs.
