Hader Institute of Education is seeking experienced Online Trainers/Assessors specialising in Counselling to join our vocational education team.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and assessing vocational training programmes to learners pursuing qualifications in counselling education and support.
You will play a crucial role in preparing skilled professionals for this vital sector, combining your subject matter expertise with engaging online delivery methods to ensure learners achieve the competencies required for their careers.
What you'll be doing
Designing and developing engaging online training content and resources aligned with vocational curriculum standards for counselling qualifications
Delivering interactive online training sessions to cohorts of learners, utilising a variety of digital tools and pedagogical approaches
Assessing learner competency through a range of assessment methods, including assignments, practical tasks, and examinations, ensuring consistency and fairness
Providing constructive feedback to learners to support their development and progression through their qualification
Maintaining accurate and detailed records of learner performance, attendance, and assessment outcomes
Collaborating with other trainers and assessors to ensure consistency in delivery and assessment practices across Hader
Supporting learners with guidance and pastoral care to enhance their learning experience and outcomes
Staying current with industry developments, legislative changes, and best practice in alcohol and other drugs education and online delivery
Participating in professional development and training to enhance teaching and assessment skills
Requirements
Essential requirements
CHC***** Diploma of Counselling or higher relevant counselling qualification.
Current registration with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA)
Minimum 2 years' recent and relevant counselling industry experience.
Current TAE***** Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, TAE*****, or another credential accepted under the applicable VET requirements.
Demonstrated experience providing counselling to clients using recognised counselling approaches/modalities.
Strong knowledge of counselling ethics, professional boundaries, informed consent, confidentiality, referral, risk and crisis response.
Experience delivering and assessing practical counselling skills, including observed demonstrations and role plays.
Ability to provide evidence of qualifications, TAE credentials, ACA registration, industry currency and relevant professional development.
Highly desirable
ACA Level 2 or above.
Current professional/clinical supervision and ongoing counselling professional development.
Previous RTO/VET training and assessment experience, preferably at Diploma level.
Experience with online delivery, Zoom and LMS platforms.
Experience with validation, moderation and continuous improvements.
